Brief :
The products are Dinnerware Sets sustainably made in Portugal. The images needed was packshot photographs, Studio and Lifestyle photographs for digital supports. On this project the biggest challenge was to make photo-compositions to create the sets because the ceramics were being produced; I've got few prototypes, which is a situation that I meet often when a product will be lauching soon. The ceramics being handmade and having a drying time of several weeks, it was obviously necessary to find a solution to delivery the files as soon as possible.
Hopefully, as a commercial photographer I am uniquely prepared to meet these challenges and provide solutions to create the photographs my clients are looking for.
Product Packshot Photography
List Shot, Requirements & Behind the Scene :
High quality photograph with a large depth of field, diffused light, volume and white background.
Product Packshot - Behind the Scenes :
As these products doesn't has a complex texture, I choose a simple light setup; one sofbox with double diffusion for a soft light, a white reflector to brighten shadows. The background is a white matte backdrop with no visible edges. The camera controlled by wifi was installed on a tripod to avoid inconsistant angles. Each product is aligned perfectly with the tablet's grid.
Product Packshot - Post Production :
The photographs are Edited and Retouched individualy on Photoshop to clean the background, reajust the colorimetry and ajust the products.

Adobe Lightroom Classic - Selection and basic editing (exposure, contrast, colorimetry...)
Adobe Photoshoot - Retouching (Background correction, dust cleaning, colorimetry, local ajustments, photo composition...)
Adobe XD - Planning, final rendering prototyping to check that the shots are consistent on digital supports
Packshot - Photo composition :
To create the images of the sets, it was necessary to take photographs of each ceramic product, creating also th eshadows to blend all the photographs together and create a realistic photo composition.
Studio Photoshoot :
Requirements & Behind the scene :
Minimal styling, a large depth of field, diffused light and soft shadows. Setup: a white umbrella with simple diffusion for a soft light and bright shadows. I've choose monocolor painted backdrops with no visible edges to fit the products' colors.
Outdoor Photoshoot with natural light :
Planning tools :
Photo Ephemeris - App to plan outdoor photographs in natural light. It is a position calculator for the sun and the moon centered on a geographic map.
Windy - Weather radar, wind and much more. Worldwide animated weather map.
Outdoor Gear :
For outdoor photographs I use a tropicalized camera and lens transported in a waterproof bag. A variable focal length is crucial to keep my gear safe.
The products are transported in lockable baskets with bubble wrap to protect them during transport by car and during the photo service.
